Shaping your Compliance

As Compliance Adviser I assist my clients in driving engagement and compliance with key company policies in order to maintain and enhance their integrity, and therefore reputation as a trusted business.

Build your compliance framework to suit your business needs;

Steps:

  • Introduce, promote, configure and administer the use of compliance software with respect to standard controls frameworks and periodic audits to mitigate non-compliance.
  • Implement effective and approved audit methodology to ensure audit results are reliable and accurate.
  • Develop and administer an effective compliance review program with Exec buy-in, including frequency and method of compliance education, review and reporting to achieve compliance outcomes sought.
  • Ensure accountable stakeholders understand and accept their critical roles in maintaining and improving compliance.
  • Implement a cycle of periodic policy reviews and provide stakeholders with the scope, recommended approach and mandatory elements of a review.
  • Develop and monitor a set of compliance metrics to inform compliance program requirements and compliance culture related to strategic risk reporting and control.
  • Deliver effective training, communication and awareness activities to key stakeholder groups in a way that builds a compliance culture.
  • Implement, develop and administer a company ‘SharePoint’ portal, encouraging self-service through relevant and engaging compliance messages to employees about up to date policy and compliance information.
  • Monitor for compliance gaps, opportunities to determine the likelihood, impact and parameters of suspected or actual non-compliant activity.
  • Through analysis build and utilise deep working knowledge of the data available to support a range of investigations and enable proactive monitoring for early detection of fraud or other non-compliance.
  • Ensure a cycle where the compliance team can provide clear, succinct, timely and actionable insights from the data analysed on the compliance posture.
  • Ensure a rugged process through testing when an initiative that may change the effectiveness of a standard control is proposed.

To truly take advantage of your compliance process, you need to establish a strong support team to minimise risk and achieve strategic objectives through deep understanding of how the business operates and where the priority compliance risks and opportunities lie.
